About the role

Position Overview

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Physician Practice Supervisor II to manage the daily operations of our outpatient medical practices. In this role, you will supervise clinical and administrative staff, coordinate provider schedules, oversee patient flow, and ensure compliance with policies and quality standards. You’ll also support process improvements and play a key role in enhancing both patient and team member experiences.

This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to balance operational efficiency with compassionate care. Every interaction you manage and every solution you help implement matters—not just to the practice, but to the people it serves.

$30.58 - $45.86 per hour, depending on experience

  • Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the medical practice, ensuring efficient scheduling of providers, patients, and staff to support optimal clinical workflow.

  • Coordinate clinical staffing needs in collaboration with the office RN or LPN, maintaining appropriate coverage and support for patient care.
  • Monitor monthly departmental expenses, identify budget variances, and implement corrective actions as needed in collaboration with upper management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, contributing to financial planning and practice goals.
  • Review and interpret key performance metrics, including financial reports, RVUs, patient volume, satisfaction scores, quality assurance data, and other relevant indicators.
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly staff, provider, and departmental meetings; maintain accurate agendas, meeting minutes, and action items.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, coordinating appropriate education, documentation, and audits.
  • Provide continuous performance feedback to staff, including documenting positive recognition, coaching opportunities, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Conduct formal annual performance appraisals, working jointly with clinical leadership to evaluate both administrative and clinical staff performance.
  • Maintain CLIA-waived lab standards, including oversight of proficiency testing, quality control logs, and lab credentialing requirements.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to promote awareness and compliance with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, NYS DOH, and Infection Control protocols.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and equipment functionality, coordinating with vendors for service, repairs, and ensuring a safe, operational clinical environment.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Three (3) years relevant medical office experience; one (1) year in a supervisory role or successful completion of UHS Supervisor In Training program.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Current driver's license
