What We Do: Lower Keys Medical Center (LKMC) is a 167 bed, full service, Joint Commission accredited, outstanding, acute care medical facility with a

  • 24/7 emergency room
  • 24/7 laboratory
  • 24/7 radiology services
  • 24/7 specially equipped medical transport helicopter

LKMC is fully accredited by the State of Florida and the gold standard, The Joint Commission.

LKMC is also proud to be the only hospital in the Florida Keys that offers labor and delivery services. We also offer physical therapy in Key West using a multi-joint strength system, in addition to other innovative systems and equipment for customized rehabilitation.

What Does a Director, Emergency Services Do?: As a Director, Emergency Services with Lower Keys Medical Center, you will spend your day…

  • Directing  and supervising nursing functions and activities in the Emergency Department.
  • Interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, standards and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Performing duties in any nursing capacity as needed.
  • Providing 24-hour responsibility for the Emergency Department.
  • Developing and implementing solutions, and coordinating the work of the Clinical Lead, Charge Nurses and all other assigned staff.
  • Ensuring safe and appropriate patient care delivery in the Emergency Department.
  • Maintaining staffing, scheduling, productivity, budget items, ED metrics, patient experience/HCAHPS scores, employee engagement scores, quality score cards, stroke metrics, chest-pain metrics and sepsis metrics.
  • Navigating electronic medical records and EDIS.
  • Daily reporting.
  • Performing proficiently in a calm and professional manner during crisis and emergency situations.

Which Qualifications Do You Need?: In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of…

  • Bachelors Degree Required and graduation from an accredited ADN, Diploma of Nursing or BS in Nursing program.
  • Minimum 5 years ER RN experience and 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Active FL RN License
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • CEN and/or CCRN preferred
