The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work (CSW) is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment.

The Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment for the College will develop and employ strategies and tactics to recruit students for the undergraduate Social Work program from underrepresented populations and students from the state of Tennessee.

This position serves as the primary contact for the undergraduate CSW recruitment program and serves as a member of the Recruitment Team reporting to the Director of  Admissions & Recruitment. This position works closely in collaboration with the Director of  Admissions & Recruitment and CSW staff such as Student Success Team in areas like advising, careers, alumni relations, employers, student life, and diversity.

The successful candidate will build relationships, communicate effectively with diverse populations, develop innovative strategies to target underrepresented populations and use critical thinking skills to enhance recruitment efforts.

This is a hybrid position working frequently in the evening and occasionally on weekends and overnight travel.

Job Duties

Prospective Undergraduate Student Recruitment

•Create an annual undergraduate recruitment strategy including budgetary requirements to meet metrics and submit a plan to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment for approval.

•Develops undergrad programs and products to target undergraduate applicants that meets CSW and university policies and procedures.

•Develops and creates promotional & recruitment materials that meet CSW and university branding guidelines.

•Develops and implements pre-collegiate curricular and co-curricular programs to support college-readiness.

•Lead and attend on and off-campus undergraduate recruitment activities and events such as college fairs, transfer fairs, exploratory student events, UTK undergraduate admissions hosted events, information sessions, prospective student campus visits/tours, conferences, etc.

•Manage Student Ambassador participation at undergraduate events.

•Provide outreach to non-College entities such as Tennessee-based agencies and other community partners.

•Develop and maintain effective relationships with high school and community college teachers and counselors that lead to desired recruitment goals.

•Communicate regularly with prospective students by email and phone.

Additional Responsibilities

• Plans events for prospective students and their families, such as open houses, high school visits, college fairs, and both in-person and virtual information sessions, creating infrastructure, assessing effectiveness, and revising approaches as needed.

• Builds and nurtures relationships with high school counselors, alumni, community college partners, and the broader community.

• Maintains a database of prospective student statuses and applicant information. Designs and coordinates outreach to admitted students.

• Guides student ambassadors in recruitment activities by managing the recruitment process and applications, training new and returning student ambassadors, scheduling tours and visits, and approving payroll.

• Assists with college events and initiatives such as graduation ceremonies, career fairs, orientation sessions, and other support tasks as needed.

• Supports CSW student activities and related events.

•Manage travel, including reserving flights, hotel rooms, rental cars, and logging travel/receipts in UTK travel systems.

•Participate in professional development opportunities on and off campus. Attend conferences, and actively participate in professional organizations.

•Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Admissions & Recruitment, the Associate Dean, and the Dean.

•Function as a representative of the College and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Communications & Student Engagement

•Work with Communications T
