Job Summary
Work closely with, learn from, and assist Mechanical Engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business in Melbourne, FL. Our Summer internship program is a Full-Time, paid opportunity. We pride ourselves on our culture of friendliness and teamwork here at DRS. Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
- Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of our company
- Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
- Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
- Assist engineers with appropriate design details
- Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
- Knowledge and experience using CAD (CREO) preferred
- Other duties as assigned
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 4 years degree program or 2 years Masters program in Mechanical Engineering
- Enrolled at time of application as a Junior or Senior with at least a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word)
- Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
- Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick study
