Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
Location: Home-Based/Hybrid/Office-Based, US (ET or CT preferred)
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is a newly established role within Bentley’s growing Controllership function. This role will report to the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager and have responsibility for supporting the financial reporting process, financial analysis, and will be a key contributor for all SEC reporting and filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K. You will collaborate closely with various teams across the organization, including Accounting, Revenue, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Investor Relations.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Work closely with the financial reporting team by contributing to the timely preparation/review of SEC filings including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K through Workiva
- Coordinate and partner with various finance and non-finance departments to obtain the information needed to prepare SEC filings, review information, and maintain supporting documentation
- Analyze supporting schedules for revenues, expenses, and cash flows details to draft MD&A disclosures
- Prepare and maintain detailed SEC filings tie-out support
- Prepare quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K disclosure checklist
- Assist in preparation and review of quarterly results press releases and related prepared scripts, and Investor Relations presentations
- Coordinate audit requests with internal and external auditors
- Assist in performing research on new and existing SEC rules and regulations and U.S. GAAP
- Monitor and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements
- Review peer SEC filings to identify trends and best practices for reporting and disclosure and summarize for Management team
- Participate in ad hoc projects as requested
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or relevant training and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience required in public accounting and/or corporate with primary responsibilities for SEC filings and/or external reporting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Understanding of US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting standards
- Workiva and Workday Financials experience a plus
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Highly productive and dependable team player
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out of the box”
- This role does not require travel
- This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, home-based, hybrid, or office-based in the US.
