About the team

Dialpad’s Business Development team will contribute to our Sales team by acquiring new customers, uncovering market opportunities and getting the market talking about Dialpad! In this role, you’ll combine prospecting, lead qualification and industry research to create qualified sales opportunities for your Account Executives. 

Dialpad’s Business Development Representative team develops relationships with prospects; becoming the initial point of contact by performing outreach through calls, emails and social media. This team works closely with Account Executives and has the opportunity for close mentorship and professional development.

Your Role

As our Head of Business Development, you will partner closely with demand generation marketing and sales to drive inbound and outbound pipeline generation. Deliverables take the form of increasing the pipeline, sales velocity, and revenue via closed won business, growing team size through hiring and promotion, recommendations on structure, segmentation and coverage, business planning, investment prioritization, productivity improvement.

You’ll forecast, track business performance, analyze  trends, and formulate a meaningful and actionable recommendations. Through your leaders and directly with sales development reps, you’ll actively coach, mentor, and help develop individual contributors in the career path.  Setting the standard for global performance, you’ll hold the team accountable to deliverable key metric

Reporting directly to our Chief Revenue Officer, this experienced leader will have the ability to creatively motivate our team using data and insights

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of leaders managing high performing SDR/BDR/CDR to uncover new business opportunities
  • Oversee pipeline creation, pipeline management, sales process
  • Create, experiment and implement new ways of engaging with prospects to increase win rates and provide an amazing full-cycle customer experience
  • Coach and develop your team to develop future leaders for the organization
  • Increase effectiveness of tools and communication channels by recognizing opportunities for innovation and proactively implementing new systems and processes
  • Optimize resources and budget and partner with internal teams to execute sales strategy as we introduce enhancements to existing solutions and/or release new products
  • Set and meet key performance indicators and objectives and key results with the sales leadership team
  • Develop and maintain BDR/SDR best practices, pitches, and objection handling
  • Hold BDR/SDR teams accountable for deliverable key metrics
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and quarterly BDR/SDR team goals
  • Provide leadership, development, and training for our BDR/SDR team to hit and exceed monthly goals and achieve other defined objectives
  • Work as a strategic partner to the marketing and sales organization to optimize the sales funnel and help to develop demand generation campaigns/content
  • Evaluate current sales tech stack to manage the sales process and set standards for performance
  • Accurately forecast the sales development pipeline and proactively flag risk
  • Be a hands-on, scrappy mentor who enthusiastically looks forward to coaching and developing the team

Skills you’ll bring

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years sales experience, preferably in the B2B SaaS space
  • 5+ years people management experience
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and balance multiple, disparate work streams
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Needs to possess a strong emotional intelligence and ability to inspire and develop direct reports
  • Brings a strong work ethic; takes the initiative and think creatively to get the job done
