Position Summary
The Sr Machine Operator is responsible for setup and operation of various equipment and machines used to manufacture different products and product components. They load materials into the machines and perform daily maintenance for smooth and efficient operations. They follow standard practices and procedures to ensure that products and parts are manufactured accurately and to proper specifications. The Sr Machine Operator coaches, mentors and trains team members and serves as a resource to them for questions.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs setup for various manufacturing machines and equipment.
- Operates computer-operated and/or mechanical machines and equipment to produce parts and products according to Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS) and Bills of Material (BOM).
- Reviews job information in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system daily to determine orders to process.
- Maintains inventory of materials needed for production orders.
- Manually loads materials into machines
- Performs periodic checks and daily routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Performs standard tests after completion of each operation to ensure parts and products meet tolerances, product specifications and quality standards.
- Places finished parts and products in proper bins.
- Coaches, mentors and trains other Machine Operators.
- Serves as a resource to Machine Operators when they have questions or need assistance.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers for any new processes to ensure that the team is utilizing equipment and machines properly.
- Rotates between different workstations and/or bays as production needs require or to reduce fatigue.
- Examines work completed by team members for accuracy and continued operations as well as safety.
- Moves materials as needed for production.
- Ensures maximum output for work area; manages time effectively in order to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes.
- Visually inspects parts for quality and reports any issues to Team Lead or Supervisor.
- Updates the ERP for work performed.
- Maintains required documentation as directed.
- Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition; ensures equipment is in good operating condition.
- Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
- Adheres to all safety policies and wears personal protective equipment as required.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of machine operation experience in a production environment
- Demonstrated ability to interact with others, problem solve and collaborate
- Competent to operate computer and complete basic data entry in systems
- Must successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production procedures
- Proficient and functioning in job responsibilities and able to attain MPS training sign-off within 90 days
- Physical dexterity to manipulate hand tools and power tools
- Ability to push, pull, lift and/or move materials of up to 30 lbs; capable of using hoists for materials over 30 lbs
