Job Summary

This position is responsible for development and implementation of workforce development and employee engagement strategies; oversight of operations related to creating, sustaining, and expanding Avamere’s workforce development portfolio; and, the incorporation and coordination of efforts from DEI&B, Talent Acquisition and Operational Departments in support of system wide developmental strategies and tactics.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, coordinates and/or leads workforce development programs; manages team in pursuit of program goals and work objectives.
  • Maintains productive relationships with union partners and acts as the primary liaison with Trust fund workforce development programs; coordinates participation efforts;
  • Employee supervision and professional development of both direct and indirect reports with the ability to navigate the nuances of a distributed team;
  • Oversight of program operations to ensure program quality, reach, and impact, with particular focus on improved or increased employee retention.
  • Strategic vision for the oversight and development of internal strategies that are responsive to industry and regional needs and inform future program development;
  • Representation of Avamere at events and engagements intended to drive workforce development goals and outcomes;
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders (Talent Acquisition, Finance, Operations, etc.) and external stakeholders, (i.e. schools, universities, State Employment Department, etc.) as well as internal stakeholders to implement and continuously improve upon Workforce development tactics, programs and plans.
  • Oversees and administers career development programs, such as the Administrator in Training, Director of Nursing in Training, Business Office Manager in Training, etc.  Collaborates with Clinical Services and Operations to ensure integrity and values of In Training programs.

Other Functions:

  • Assists with the development of management reports and communications to support community facilities use of employee focused resources such as Benefits plans and programs.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
  • Provides support to HR team members
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Assist with preparation of materials utilized by other parts of the organization as needed;
  • Attend company meetings, event and planning sessions as needed; and
  • Assist with other activities as directed by the VP of HR.

Requirement and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related experience in workforce development, program management, human resources; a bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or education; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience developing measurable high-impact programs and professional development strategies;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • A proven track record of instituting data-driven decisions to drive change at scale;
  • Outstanding communication skills including experience with public speaking;
  • Excellent project management and time management skills;
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with external and internal partners, spanning the full program lifecycle from proposal development to project management, through to project completion and post-program assessment (including final-report writing).

Preferred Qualification

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification;
  • certifications in adult education and learning;
  • Advanced degree in business;
  • Previous HR experience in a Healthcare environment.
