Description

The Undergraduate Medical Education/Faculty Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of medical student clinical clerkships and faculty development at Hamilton Medical Center. This role involves coordinating educational experiences, supporting faculty development, and ensuring that medical students receive high-quality, hands-on training. The manager will work closely with faculty, department leadership, hospital administration, and medical school leadership to foster a positive learning environment and enhance the clinical education experience. The manager serves as a key liaison between the medical school and clinical sites, working to enhance the learning environment for medical students while promoting faculty engagement and growth in their teaching roles. The UME/Faculty Development Manager serves as a vital part of the Medical Education administrative team and collaborates with other team members and leaders to complete other duties, including GME, as assigned when needed.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Three years of office management experience or equivalent experience in administration and office management settings in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

Licensure:  N/A

Experience:  At least 3-5 years in academic administration or medical education, preferably within healthcare or a university setting. Experience managing educational programs and familiarity with accreditation processes, including LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) or similar accrediting bodies. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with faculty, staff, and students.

Skills: With the increasing scope and complexity of program requirements and documentation, the Program Coordinator must have superior organizational skills.  The ability to prioritize work independently and meet important deadlines is critical.
