Supervise and coordinate receiving and storage of inventory in a manner consistent with the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system. Responsible for cycle counts and physical inventory of the warehouse. This position is located full-time in a warehouse environment.

• Manage the receiving and inventory process and ensure that all processes are being followed.
• Develop an inventory strategy that maximizes inventory turns by utilizing the latest sales forecast and historical trends.
• Participate and provide insight into the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, and Planning) process.
• Manage the physical inventory process, ensure the proper frequency of cycle counts, review materials to ensure they have proper identification, conduct inventory reconciliations, and develop corrective actions.
• Review the local inventory management system and ensure we are effectively utilizing the WMS system.
• Determine strategic layout for warehouse and materials, ensure proper utilization of warehouse space.
• Initiate, monitor, and document cost reduction programs related to inventories and efficiencies of its movement.
• Ensure Departmental compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with the General Manager, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure proper inventory.
• Ensure all receiving, processing, shipping, and inventory control functions are executed accurately by verifying orders and auditing reports.
• Recommend new or improved methods, techniques, and procedures for various warehouse processes.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship and open lines of communication with all departments to ensure Department, Company, and Client goals are achieved.

• Good understanding of inventory management
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Willingness to learn & adapt.
• Strong math, reading, and writing skills.
• Forklift certification, reach truck experience is required.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Physical ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE

• 5 – 7 years of warehouse experience

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (any specific physical attributes or limiting factors to be accounted for):        

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend a large majority of time walking, standing, and using hands to push/pull. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is required to independently lift and /or move up to 20 to 50 pounds regularly and part of a two-person team up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
