Summer Child Care Staff

Minnetonka Community Education is seeking energetic, creative staff to join our Explorers school-age child care program! Summer shifts available at multiple schools with flexible hours between 6:30am-6pm. Our Child Care Assistants will provide supervision and engage with children in grades K-5. No formal child care experience is required, so if you are passionate about our mission to ensure all students envision and pursue their highest aspirations while serving the greater good. Job responsibilities include:

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for children
• Ensure a safe, engaging and inclusive environment for children 
• Provide set up and clean up of classroom activities 
• Effectively communicate with children, parents, and staff 
• Supervise Field trips. 

Pay & Schedule:

• Starting from $17.50/hour 
• Shifts are Monday-Friday, 4-6 hours, straight shift
• Summer programming runs June 10- August 23, School year shifts may be available 
• Locations available: Excelsior, Groveland, Scenic Heights

Qualifications:

• No prior child care experience is required, but must have an interest in working with children
• Ability to follow directions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members
• Strong interpersonal communication skills 
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
