We are currently seeking a Vehicle Quality Specialist for High Voltage Battery. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. 

You Will:

  • Resolve complex vehicle issues related to High Voltage battery
  • Validate that HV battery hardware/software implemented fixes are effective.
  • Be the HV Battery quality subject matter expert
  • Track down customer satisfaction and warranty costs reduction impact with regards to HV Battery
  • Be responsible for Quality Objective achievement (3 Months-in-Service, Consumer Reports) for HV Battery
  • Warranty part return tear-down and analysis
  • Field incident scrambles and investigation
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams to resolution of complex and/or chronic issues for HV battery in an accelerated pace
  • Cultivate a synchronized relationship with cross-functional stakeholders including Design and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service and Quality with the objective of driving issues to a resolution
  • Conduct vehicle audits and represent the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and drive feedback to Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to catalyze improvements in product, process & equipment
  • Consolidate inputs and material from cross-functional teams to create presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate progress and status at all leadership levels including the C-Suite
  • Define and implement inspection metrics, constantly striving for higher quality 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

You Bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant automotive experience in development of HV Battery systems with a solid understanding of HV battery safety and software controls.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of high voltage system controls with a focus HV Battery operation and safety.
  • Experience working with data acquisition systems and signal based diagnosis (CANalyzer, CANoe. etc)
  • Systems approach to engineering product development, including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines
  • Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based in a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment 
  • Demonstrated experience of engineering problem solving
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to drive decisions using data and metrics
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Goal-oriented self-starter and motivator
  • Field quality experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Engineering field – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
  • Technical Master’s degree preferred

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in two full product development cycles for High voltage battery and/or electrified powertrain components (On board charger, inverter, DC-DC).
  • High voltage safety training or relevant hands-on testing experience.
  • Proficient working with data acquisition systems and signal based diagnosis (CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, CANoe. etc)
  • Experience with DFMEA, 8D, DOE other structured evaluation and problem-solving methodologies
  • Six Sigma / Black Belt
  • Technical Master’s degree
  • OEM experience preferred
Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include evenings and weekends, as needed)
