Memory Lane Activities Staff

We are seeking a part time caring, energetic, and creative Activity Assistant to join our Life Enrichment/Activities Department. The Activity Assistant will play a vital role in planning and implementing a variety of engaging activities  to enhance the quality of life for our residents in our long-term care facility. This position will be a primary activity assistant for our memory care residents, many of whom benefit from frequent interactions, sensory stimulation and purposeful activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of daily recreational activities

• Encourage resident participation in group and individual programs

• Transport and escort residents to and from activities

• Set up and clean up activity areas before and after events

• Document resident participation and preferences in activity programs

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

• Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations

• Contribute ideas for new and innovative activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living environment preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to motivate and engage residents with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities

• Creative, organized, and dependable

• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Must pass a criminal background check, physical and drug screen.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds

• Able to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the shift
