After over a decade of research and development, the company now leverages a platform that uniquely measures small molecule interactions with biological targets at tremendous scale and high precision and accuracy, enabling generative computational design of molecules to address challenging targets.  

The foundation of everything we do is our Library production team. They rapidly synthesize encoded combinatorial libraries on nanoscale beads to provide millions of unique compounds with the highest purity and greatest diversity in the industry. These libraries are then immobilized in small silicon chips and decoded, resulting in ultra-dense small molecule microarrays where the binding of 32 million compounds on a chip can be measured in less than 5 minutes. Screening targets of interest against many libraries provides Terray’s unique precision data at scale. The computational and data sciences team uses this data to power machine learning and other models that then lead to the design of new and improved libraries. This is one of the pillars of Terray’s iterative workflow that culminates in generative computational design of therapeutic molecules – with Library production as a core competency and foundational to Terray’s success. 

Position Summary 

Terray is currently seeking a Library Production Manager who will be accountable for the personnel, process, equipment and materials required to produce Terray’s extensive, high purity, and high diversity compound libraries. This role will report to the Head of Production at Terray.  

The role includes but is not limited to:

• Management of the library manufacturing team: defining and monitoring individual’s performance, capabilities, and development milestones and communicating expectations and priorities to team members  
• Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards within the production work environment
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to define the production schedules and implementing and overseeing execution of those schedules  
• Monitoring production process key performance indicators to identify issues and facilitate resolution  
• Identifying key areas for improvement (such as bottlenecks impacting throughput or process deficiencies), prioritizing those needs, and communicate these priorities and needs to R&D functions to identify targeted areas for process development  
• Collaborating with R&D functions to transfer new chemistries, processes, and equipment into production rapidly and with a focus on maintaining quality and excellence through the technology transfer process  
• Partnering with other operations and R&D functions to ensure the library production team has the training, materials and equipment available to them to meet demand  
• Lead quality control implementation and documentation of standard workflows and operating procedures across the Libraries team
• Collaborating with R&D functions to ensure that rigorous quality control checks are in place across the entire assay lifecycle
• Develop workflows to monitor and track system utilization and performance and work closely with management to optimize platform throughput to feed Terray’s pipeline
