Summary
The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the safety and security of personnel, assets, facilities and information across the spectrum of all the teams of IO Security. The Security Generalist is a critical contributor to our security operations team and is considered above an intermediate level member of the team, able to operate in any position on the team with confidence across the physical security domains: Security Center, Family Protection Team, Ranch Protection Operations and Executive Movement Team. This could include, but is not limited to, executive protection movements and travel, continuity of business, property security, surveillance camera monitoring, screening of contractor personnel, response to natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire, issues of serious injury or illness and other threats that pose a risk to safety and security of personnel, facilities and business operations. This is a full-time position specifically designed to backfill open shifts based on the needs of the clientele and other aspects of security team operations. The Security Generalist fills a vital security function and at times must be prepared to perform shifts throughout a 24/7, 365 days a year operation. The optimal candidate must understand that scheduling flexibility is key and must be able to work as requested, but will be operating within a company that prides itself in establishing a healthy work/life balance. Candidates must be Colorado Residents, with a valid concealed carry permit. Candidates must reside within a 30 minute drive from our Colorado Headquarters based in Longmont, Colorado.
Duties
- Monitors, tests and responds to intrusion and other alarm systems at multiple locations.
- Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and have the ability to influence informally across different departments within the team.
- Track and report on program performance assurance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines.
- Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Provide assistance to employees and create a safe and friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner.
- Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes.
- Responsible for client and family safety, as well as safeguarding client assets.
- Provide safe and secure vehicle transportation to and from designated locations for C-Level executives and their family.
- Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on-site.
- Contact the police or fire department if and when there is an emergency.
- Conducts ongoing threat, risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Operates motor vehicles in a safe and legal manner.
- Conducts protective advance operations.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of local emergency services, routes, and points of interest within a given area of responsibility.
- Operate in a low profile, low footprint capacity.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and personal appearance.
- Uses closed circuit TV (CCTV) video surveillance systems to confirm status of security systems and confirm authorization of individuals requesting access to any secure area.
- Assists supervisors in the deployment of security personnel and security personnel activities.
- Communicates effectively with staff, guests, and employees via radio, telephone, email and in-person.
- Monitors and operates computer systems effectively.
- Documents and investigates security events and incidents.
- Dispatches security staff as appropriate and issues equipment.
- Build, improve and maintain effective communication and relationships with co-workers, staff, subcontractors, vendors and guests.
- Remain flexible to an ever changing environment, and adapt well to different situations.
- Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual activity both verbally and in writing.
- Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately, and contact local emergency responders; police, fire dept., EMT’s.
- Fully participate in and exercise initiative in training and certification programs to enhance your abilities and advance your career.
- Be thoroughly familiar with our security operations manuals, post orders, policies, procedures and instructions and comply with IO Security, LLC Policy and Procedures.
- Have experience and effectively use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
