We are on the lookout for an experienced risk management professional. The BRCL Manager is essential in mitigating regulatory scrutiny, reducing potential losses and operational costs, and improving customer experiences, thereby safeguarding PayPal's reputation and operational integrity.

Meet Our Team-

The Business Risk and Control Lead (BRCL) Manager is responsible for leading a team of BRCLs, assisting Product/Business owners in managing their product/business risks. The BRCL Manager executes risk processes in the first line, including risk identification, assessment, control evaluation, and the management and resolution of issues and incidents. This role also includes the production of the Annual Risk and Compliance Plan (ARCP) output and risk reporting for products, functions, and jurisdictions. The BRCL Manager manages product/business-specific risk forums and interfaces with the Second Line of Defense to implement risk frameworks and protocols.

• Review and derive insights from key risk metrics for business area, interpret data from dashboards and reporting (such as regulatory exams, complaints, incidents, etc.).

• Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management.

• Maintain a strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within the area of responsibility.

• Represent the business line in first line risk forums.

• Serve as a backup to the Issue Management leader, ensuring continuity and effective stakeholder engagement.

Your day to day

In your day to day role you will...

• Lead a team of BRCLs focusing on Issue Management.

• Conduct end-to-end issue management, including identification, documentation, remediation oversight, and validation, in accordance with policy.

• Perform and refresh risk assessments, including risk identification, documentation, rating, and control evaluation.

• Maintain Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool data for areas of responsibility.

• Assist with responses to Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations).

• Support business needs with documentation requirements (e.g., Work Instructions).

What do you need to bring-

• Experience managing risks, controls, and/or compliance obligations in the financial industry preferred.

• Strong critical thinking skills. Experience applying various methodologies or practices to assess processes and business issues and the ability to extract key messages from detail and translate into audience appropriate messages.

• Problem Solving Skills that include operating independently while managing multiple competing priorities with difficult deadlines and exhibiting a sense of urgency when necessary.

• Expert oral, written and interpersonal communication skills whereby you convey complex information accurately, clearly, and quickly to all levels of management.

• Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing constructive feedback to peers and/or team members in support of continuous improvement and learning.
