Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Rewards, the Director, Employee Benefits leads a team of Benefits professionals in the development of creative, market-competitive Retirement, Health and Wellness Plans. The primary focus of this role is the management of the MAPFRE USA 401k and Profit-Sharing Plan, and secondarily to provide leadership and support to the Health & Wellness Benefits team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred.
Experience: 9 - 11 years or Bachelor's Degree equivalent plus 11 - 13 years.
Knowledge: Extensive level of professional knowledge in field across multiple disciplines and broad business segment. Extensive knowledge of management practices.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• 10 years of experience in Benefit Plan management
• Deep understanding and expertise in ERISA plan management gained through plan management experience with Retirement Plans and self-funded Medical high deductible plans.
• Extensive knowledge of best benefits administration practices and relevant regulations
• Professional designation such as WorldatWork Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) is highly desired
- Work closely with Vice President, Rewards, other HR and Finance staff to identify opportunities to measure and improve process effectiveness, cost and quality
- Lead and manage the day-to-day administration of the 401k & Profit-Sharing Plan, seeking to streamline administrative processes and maintain our strong employee participation level
- Manage the annual calendar of meetings and topics for consideration of the MAPFRE USA Retirement Administration and Investment Committee in conjunction with our Plan Fiduciary Consultant
- Prepare materials for ratification by the MAPFRE USA Board of Directors in collaboration with the Legal department
- Design and execute a Financial Wellness strategy to meet the needs of a four-generation workforce
- Engage with the Health & Wellness team and outside Benefits Consultants/Brokers to design cost-effective, market-competitive benefits
- Recommend enhancements to communication strategies and overall plan administration practices.
- Collaborate with and build strong relationships with all HR staff
- Manage relationships with our Benefit Broker and all external vendors
- Lead the development of the Annual Benefits Program budget
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- Excellent presentation and writing skills
