Job Description
About EDS
EDS is the unified digital platform that powers GE HealthCare’s global software portfolio. It serves as a comprehensive library of reusable UI components, design patterns, and accessibility standards that bridge the critical gap between User Experience (UX) and Engineering. By fostering a philosophy of "reduce, reuse, and recycle," EDS enables hundreds of product teams to eliminate redundant coding and design work. We provide the foundational building blocks that ensure our clinical and operational applications are intuitive, consistent, and accessible, allowing teams to focus on patient safety.
The Mission: Scale and Empowerment
We are in a phase of hyper-growth, scaling from 15 adopting products to over 100. This requires a leader who thinks like a founder. You must look beyond simple backlog management to think about scale, growth, and empowerment. You will build a self-service ecosystem that allows teams to move fast without breaking the consistent standards required for patient safety and accessibility.
The Team Model & Mentorship You will orchestrate the delivery of a cross-functional organization by managing a mix of Full-Time Employees (FTEs) and Contractors. Your mandate is to drive the delivery strategy by ensuring Architecture, DevOps, Dev, QA, and Support operate as a unified force.
Mentorship is your primary deliverable. You are responsible for transforming individual contributors into technical leaders. You will define career paths, provide regular coaching, and create a culture where engineers are excited to grow.
Operational Unity: You break down silos between functions. You ensure that QA is not an afterthought, DevOps is integrated early, and Support is not isolated.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership, People & Culture
Transparent & Authentic Leadership: You lead with authenticity. You are transparent about challenges, you own your decisions, and you build a culture of psychological safety where team members feel empowered to speak up.
High-Performance Culture: You foster a culture of excellence. You have extensive experience managing the full employee lifecycle, from career development and promotion to constructively addressing performance gaps. You handle sensitive personnel situations (including PIPs) with firmness, fairness, and empathy.
The "Talent Magnet": You are responsible for hiring, onboarding, and scaling the India team. You leverage your personal network and industry reputation to attract top-tier talent across Architecture, DevOps, and Engineering.
Culture of Service: Instill a "Customer Service Mindset" across the engineering org. You coach your team to treat internal product teams with the same responsiveness and care as external paying customers.
2. Regional Customer Success
Regional Advocacy: Act as the primary face of EDS for India-based product teams. You engage with local engineering directors to understand their roadmaps and ensure EDS is meeting their needs.
Escalation Management: You are the point of escalation for critical issues in the region. You use your interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to de-escalate friction and find constructive solutions.
Confident Decision Making: You are a decisive leader who resolves issues locally. You minimize "upward delegation" by making confident calls on personnel and operational issues, only escalating when truly necessary.
3. Technical Oversight & Governance
