Job Description Summary:
PayPal provides Credit solutions globally to both Consumer and Business Customers. The Credit Finance team plays a pivotal role in analyzing, understanding, and driving business results. We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our Merchant Lending team. In this role, you will work closely with the Credit Risk, Operations, Analytics, Marketing, and Accounting teams to translate business strategies into expected financial performance.Job Description:

The Financial Analyst will support the financial planning process, which includes near term forecasting, annual planning, strategic planning, and global expansion initiatives. The position will support the analysis and modeling of the merchant lending portfolios, developing forecast assumptions through data analysis, perform profitability analysis of key segments, and assess strategic and tactical initiatives. This person will have the opportunity to collaborate with and support multiple functional areas across the business to project and deliver results, while influencing business strategies.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Assist with developing the near-term and long-term business planning assumptions and pro forma financial statements
• Provide insights and input into the annual plans and quarterly forecasts for loan volume, revenue, losses/reserves, and operating expenses
• Research and review portfolio activity to measure and map asset performance. Identify trends to support forecast assumptions, model inputs, and perform attribution analysis
• Provide meaningful daily, weekly, monthly analysis of trends vs. expectations.
• Partner with Marketing team to develop marketing channel P&Ls to support management initiatives, incremental spend opportunities, and facilitate decision-making
• Maintain, update, and enhance financial operating models
• Provide accurate and thorough reporting and explanations of results to business leaders
• Partner with Credit Finance team members to envision, define, and drive opportunities for technology and process improvements
