The Director of Global Strategic Sourcing will lead the transformation of Libbey’s global sourcing function from a transactional mindset to one of a proactive, strategic business enabler. This individual will be responsible for designing and executing a global sourcing strategy aligned with Libbey’s growth priorities, particularly in the Foodservice & Retail channels, while ensuring a cost-effective, resilient, and high-performing supplier network across major finished-goods categories including dinnerware, flatware, glassware, and other categories.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strategic vision, operational execution, and team (functional and cross-functional) development. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of category expertise, process discipline, supplier negotiation skills, strategic partners development, and a track record of building strong cross-functional relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic Leadership & Execution
◦ Lead the development and execution of a formal, scalable global sourcing strategy.
◦ Translate strategic objectives into actionable sourcing plans, timelines, and KPIs.
◦ Optimize the global supplier base with a focus on cost, risk, and alignment to business goals.
◦ Implement dual-sourcing, regional diversification, and supplier consolidation where needed.
• Supplier Management
◦ Build and manage strategic supplier relationships at executive levels.
◦ Develop and maintain a supplier evaluation and segmentation process.
◦ Lead negotiations for high-impact sourcing categories and critical contracts.
• Cost Management
◦ Drive year-over-year cost savings through strategic sourcing and contract management.
◦ Establish Total Cost of Ownership-based decision-making frameworks that incorporate price, quality, inventory carrying cost tariffs, logistics, and service performance.
◦ Implement spend analysis tools to support cost and supplier performance visibility.
• Risk & Compliance
◦ Integrate risk and regulatory compliance into all sourcing processes.
◦ Monitor geopolitical and market conditions impacting the supply chain.
◦ Ensure proper contract controls, supplier performance standards, and audit processes are in place.
• Team & Process Development
◦ Assess current sourcing team capabilities and build a roadmap for upskilling and expansion.
◦ Define sourcing processes, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
◦ Serve as a coach and mentor to a team of buyers and sourcing managers.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
• Strong category experience in manufacturing environments—especially consumer products, foodservice, or glass/ceramics preferred.
• Strategic leadership oversight – ability to influence, govern and drive a continuous improvement mindset across teams, directly and indirectly. Also able to operate tactically as needed.
• Skilled at motivating others and managing performance, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability and drive for results.
• Proven success in leading supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Experience building or transforming a sourcing organization, including talent development.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including TCO modeling and cost analysis.
• Position will require domestic and international travel up to 10%.
• Skilled communicator, able to influence senior leadership and supplier executives.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and overcoming constraints.
• Strong initiative and bias for process improvement, ensuring successful development, execution and long-term sustainability.
