Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomist

This position is responsible for performing phlebotomies and receiving/processing specimens to ensure high quality in the preanalytical phase of laboratory testing.
Work Schedule: 0.5 FTE - Monday through Friday, 5AM to 9 AM, every fourth weekend.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Superior customer service skills, multitasking skills, and computer/data entry skills.
- Some positions, as identified by the Laboratory Manager, will be required to drive to various sites to perform phlebotomy. If required, must have a valid driver’s license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines.
- Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of health care program (e.g. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Phlebotomy).
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Medical Terminology knowledge
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- Typing or keyboarding skills
