Summary: 

We’re seeking a driven and innovative engineer to join the Cloud Engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for the buildout and upkeep of core systems for running Bamboo applications. You’ll create and develop automations responsible for everything from regular maintenance to CI/CD driving our application releases. You’ll use your knowledge of cloud services to guide both your team and application teams in their best use.

What You’ll Do:

• Build the foundation of the Bamboo Health platform with product and engineering teams
• Be a hands-on engineer, developing automations and services driving the platform’s core
• Diagnose, resolve, and prevent recurrences of production issues
• Optimize current solutions with a focus on cost, reliability, and performance
• Quickly triage and resolve production situations as they arise
• Evaluate new software and service offerings against the current platform vision 
• Work with our security team to continuously ensure our platform’s compliance with HITRUST and other standards

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

• Develop an understanding of the as-is state of the Bamboo Health product lines & technical stack 
• Contribute code following best practices for readability, testing, and maintainability.
• Develop relationships with engineering and cross-functional teams

In 6 months…

• Gain knowledge of core Bamboo Health supporting infrastructure and automations.
• Participate in the team call and release rotations (each every ~1 of 9 weeks), responding to cloud-related production emergencies as needed in the call rotation and executing sensitive off-hours changes on release.
• Contribute to the design and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure 

In 12 months…

• Understand Bamboo Health’s cloud platform and applications
• Implement solutions to contribute new functionality and higher reliability to our systems
• Collaborate with application teams to refine and improve their use of our platform

What You Need:

• 5+ years of software development or operations experience
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment
• Self-starter with an ability to solve problems with little or no direction and a passion for driving change
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for overall architecture, product, and application design
• Strong leadership skills to mentor and assist less experienced team members
• Experience working with a public cloud such as AWS, Google Cloud, or similar
• Experience with containerization systems such as Podman, Docker, LXC, and similar
• Experience in a container orchestration platform such as Kubernetes
• Knowledge of a common scripting language such as Python, Ruby, etc
• Experience working in Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure as code systems
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins in a modern containerized environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of judgment and creativity in designing innovative solutions.
