We are seeking a Project Architect to support our team at Ampere, which specializes in architectural design services, master planning, renovations, and conceptual visualizations of sports facilities. Based in a central location for U.S. sports design and architecture, Ampere brings its industry-leading talent to exciting projects across North America.

The Project Architect will be working from our office in Kansas City, MO reporting to our Principal Director of Sports Design. The Project Architect leads the design, coordination, and delivery of architectural projects from concept through construction, ensuring code compliance, quality documentation, and successful execution. This role manages project schedules and resources, collaborates with consultants and clients, and mentors junior staff while supporting continuous improvement in tools and processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead project design and documentation efforts

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and contractors

  • Oversee code compliance (building codes, zoning, ADA, life safety)

  • Oversee construction administration activities and project closeout

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources

  • Perform site visits and prepare field reports

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff

  • Preparing and refining presentation materials and drawings.

  • Client meetings, site visits, and lead project reviews.

  • Responsible for bringing / troubleshooting new software to Ampere.

What you need for success:

  • Bachelor's (B.Arch) or Master's (M.Arch) Degree Program in Architecture from an accredited program (or similar industry affiliated program)

  • Licensed

  • Completion of the Architectural Experience Program (AXP)

  • Successful completion of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE)

  • Or approved alternative licensure path per state or jurisdiction

  • 3+ years of professional experience

  • Software Skills; Proficiency in:

    • Revit

    • Adobe Creative Suite

    • Microsoft Office

    • Bluebeam

    • Rendering Software (Lumion, Enscape, D5, Twinmotion, or equivalent)

  • Technical Skills:

    • Understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction standards

    • Proficiency with 3D modeling, rendering, and presentation graphics.

    • Strong understanding of building systems and construction methods

    • Familiarity with specifications (e.g., MasterSpec, Uniformat)

    • Proven experience managing all phases of architectural projects (SD through CA)

    • Experience with construction documentation and administration

  • Design Skills:

    • Strong conceptual design and problem-solving abilities

    • Experience with space planning, materials research, and aesthetic detailing

    • Ability to work within branding and client vision constraints

    • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control

  • Collaboration and Communication Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team coordination

    • Effective verbal and written communication

    • Problem-solving and critical thinking

    • Team player; Humble; Always looking for best solution regardless of credit

    • Proactive initiative; Positive attitude; Willingness to learn/Accept critique

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

    • Comfortable working in multi-discip
