Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - This person will work with other members of the engineering team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size for our fossil and hydro power generation clients. Daily tasks will include engineering support for additions and modifications to power generation related structures including:
 

  • Mechanical and electrical equipment supports, racks, foundations, and anchorages
  • Pre-engineered metal building foundations
  • Steel-framed, concrete, or masonry building
  • Personnel access platforms, walkways, stairways, etc.
  • Structural foundations (spread footings, piles, and mat foundations)
  • Lifting and rigging component design 

Responsibilities, include but not limited to:

  • Perform duties in accordance with typical Professional Engineer (PE) roles and responsibilities (prepare, review, and seal design drawings & calculations).
  • Works with other engineers and designers to evaluate, select, and apply design techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned engineering/technical tasks.
  • Lead effort to develop engineering calculations and construction drawings (layouts, assemblies, schematics, and details) and assist other engineers in preparation of design packages (checking and verification).
  • Communicate with other designers and engineers about concepts, data, and specific needs associated with the completion of design deliverables.
  • Manages personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.
    Understand the basic design requirements, and technical/commercial constraints on projects.
  • Assists in equipment or material selection or specification based on environmental or performance requirements.
  • Performs material takeoffs from completed drawings and schedules to determine quantities and equipment specifications.
  • Reference information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, and client standards and interface with engineering as required.
  • Accountable for the quality and technical adequacy of design documents they prepare, and that the documents have been prepared in accordance with applicable Mesa or client procedures which define the requirements for document/deliverable generation.
