As Director of Accounting at Relativity, you will be responsible for leading the general ledger and accounting operations functions at Relativity. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate accounting, leadership in the close and reporting process, execution of internal controls and oversight of key platforms and systems, such as our ERP. You will be a key leader of the accounting team and will collaborate with other functions to help drive and plan for strategic growth and to accomplish the objectives of the company. This position reports to the VP Accounting and the ideal candidate will be located in the Chicago area; however, we would be open to considering remote candidates.

As Director of Accounting at Relativity, you will be responsible for leading the general ledger and accounting operations functions at Relativity. Your Role In Action
- Lead and manage a global accounting and general ledger team, fostering professional growth and leadership to a geographically dispersed team of professionalslocated in the United States and Poland.
- Manage the close and consolidation process, ensuring a robust level of analysis and close/reconciliation management tools to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
- Oversee operational accounting functions, including banking, payables and expense reimbursement.
- Manage cash balances and outflows/inflows by developing robust cash management forecasting processes.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate accounting outputs including policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support legal entity accounting for entities across the world to ensure compliance with local accounting and statutory rules and related filings.
- Work with financial statement auditors to support audit and disclosure requirements.
- Oversee effective management of intercompany transactions and balances including efficient foreign exchange management.
- Develop scalable processes to effectively manage the global footprint and growth of the company.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at the company, including FP&A, legal, HR, sales and others
- Coordinate directly with outside advisors and third parties both in the US and internationally.
- Assist with system-related functions administered by the accounting department, particularly ERP functionality and oversight.
- Cultivate an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, personal growth and development, open communications and teamwork
- Provide outstanding customer service to employees, department leaders, management, auditors, vendors and customers.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience working in multi-national general corporate or public accounting (mix of both preferred), including 3+ years as a supervisor/leader
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience, Licensed CPA preferred
- Highly Desirable: Experience in a technology or SAAS company, experience with mergers and acquisitions, and experience in a public company or SOX compliant environment
- Strong accounting research skills with experience supporting US and international reporting
- Experience with ERP and other system implementations a plus
- Experience supporting accounting operations and reporting in multiple countries
- Strong project management experience, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adaptable to changing priorities and evolving responsibilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, verbal and written communications skills, and strong customer orientation
Compensation
- This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus target of 20%, and long-term incentives.
- The expected salary range for this role is between $134,000 and $202,000 and the final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
