About you and this role 

Loads and unloads vessels in a safe and efficient way - serving clients in an optimal way. Develops technical skills on the job to perform routine work activities using existing standard operating procedures. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of supervision.
In this role, you will be using standard operating procedures to complete well-defined activities to develop the technical skills required to perform routine tasks. You will need to understand how these assigned tasks relate to other jobs and be able to exchange information in routine situations within your workgroup.
It is your responsibility to use existing procedures to resolve straightforward problems with limited opportunities to independently modify procedures or work processes. You are accountable for managing your assigned tasks and the accuracy of your own work. You will receive close to moderate level of supervision and guidance in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Package finished goods to comply with DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations.
  • Package items according to customer specifications, including special instructions.
  • Document information on orders shipping, number of cartons or pallets, gross weights, and dimensions.
  • Keep shipping supplies and packaging components organized while maintaining inventory control.
  • Ability to Safely operate fork truck.
  • Stretch wrap pallets for shipment.
  • Packaging & processing samples/shipments with UPS and Fed-Ex
  • Possible required overtime planned/unplanned.
  • General Housekeeping
  • Load and/or Unload Trailers
  • Responsible for participating in safety walk throughs.
  • Attention to detail and working well under pressure is crucial.
  • Print various labels from CAB/TEC/Xerox and other printers.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Ability to obtain DG/Dangerous Goods Certification within first 6 months.
  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Frequent lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs with lift assist equipment.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Stand 80% of the time.
  • Work in an area with hazardous materials

Preferred Skills

  • 2 or more years of Manufacturing or relevant experience
  • Previous experience with safe operation of Fork truck.
  • SAP and ADC experience.
  • Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
  • Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
  • Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
  • Has strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate with a very diverse population which is spread across the site.
  • Strong reading comprehension and listening skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • Able to work with independently with minimal supervision within an empowered team environment.
  • Strong work ethic.
