Global Quality Manager - Design Engineering

How will you make an impact?
As a Global Quality Manager – Design Engineering, you will drive the standardization, optimization, and digitalization of quality systems, tools, procedures, and policies across Jabil Design Engineering. You will ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements while leading global initiatives to improve design quality, risk mitigation, and process efficiency. Additionally, you will mentor teams, support program transfers, and facilitate the implementation of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
What will you do?
Leadership & Management Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, and hire Global Quality Engineers.
- Develop and implement training programs for Quality teams.
- Mentor and coach teams to enhance performance and expertise.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality operations.
- Facilitate communication across global design sites and teams.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a Quality strategy that aligns with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives by streamlining processes.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models to track quality performance.
- Improve customer satisfaction metrics through quality enhancements.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Lead the standardization and optimization of quality and design engineering systems.
- Implement phase/gate product lifecycle management systems.
- Ensure effective product launches and smooth program transfers between sites.
- Provide technical support in design for sustainability to enable environmentally responsible product development.
- Promote and oversee DFMEA and DFSS implementation across design teams.
- Support data and knowledge transfer activities between Jabil sites.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive data.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree (MS) in Engineering is a plus.
Experience:
- 6–8 years of experience in a quality-related role, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership position.
- Experience in Product Design and/or Design Quality is required.
- Proven expertise in design engineering quality systems and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing global teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Travel required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in document control systems such as WindChill, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record in change management, process optimization, and cost reduction.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills across global teams.
- Knowledge of global and regional logistics operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred but not required.
