The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking an AvionX Mid-Level Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team in Hazelwood, Missouri to support AvionX aviation product lines.
Who You Are:
You are an experienced AvionX Mid-Level Hardware Systems Engineer with a passion for systems and component design and electronics. You have a strong technical background, with a desire to apply this to the development of new and cutting-edge avionics systems and components. You also have strong interpersonal skills to work with subject matter experts as well as peers on the team to create deliverables.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
- Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
- Supports fielded hardware and software as required over the entire product lifecycle
- Helps investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to advance applications to meet company business needs
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in Requirements Management, System Integration, and System Architecture Design with Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) component, Circuit Card Assembly, and Printed Wiring Board specification and quality requirements
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
- Strong technical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with other team members and work in a diverse team centric environment
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
