Boeing AvionX is seeking a AvionX Controls Systems Engineering Manager to join our team in Long Beach, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages assigned AvionX SE workforce developing controls-related products

  • Plans and manages budget and SOW across multiple controls products allocated to assigned AvionX and Boeing International SE workforces

  • Prepares new business estimates (SOW, budget, staffing) for controls SE activities consistent with historical performance

  • Executes SE work meeting multiple controls products requirements per AvionX processes and with AvionX-approved tools, improves the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and tools (PnT) and develops new PnT as necessary to meet product development needs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with Avionics hardware & software development, design, production, and project management

  • Experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification and validation

  • Experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role

  • Experience as a functional manager (at least a the K-level)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes and tools required to complete requirements development, system integration, verification, certification, leading into production and support services

  • Experience with commercial airplane avionics such as IMA, Flight Controls or mission computing

  • products/technologies, and their development and certification

  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and ARP-4754A hardware and software development tools, processes and standards

  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), including developing Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) and Control

  • Account Management (CAM)

  • Experience with developing proposals, including developing budgets and a resource loaded schedule

  • Experience in leading and managing IPTs or teams that are complementary to SEIT (e.g. leading HW or SW design teams)

Summary pay range: $166,600 - $225,400
