Position Specific Description

Associate Gas Operation Tech:

 

The Associate Gas Operations Technician will have responsibility for performing operation and maintenance activities on industrial engines (CAT 3500 series) that have been assigned to them. The main duties and responsibilities are:

Plant Operations

 

• Participate in routine and major maintenance activities on industrial engines (CAT 3500 series) as assigned. Gas Operations Technician may, from time to time be temporarily assigned to work at other facilities to assist in routine and major maintenance work. This work may require travel and overnight stays

• Conduct all work in a safe and efficient manner, observing all safety regulations and safety policies and procedures.

• Participate in and/or conduct on-site monitoring and recordkeeping activities in accordance with relevant permits and environmental plans and regulations.

• Operate, adjust, and maintain industrial engines to maintain a status of compliance with relevant permits. This includes, but is not limited to, fuel consumption rates, temperature thresholds, pressure thresholds, energy output, emissions output, record keeping, etc.

• Work with PGD Operations Specialist to help manage onsite inventory to ensure that adequate materials, supplies, spare parts, tooling, etc. are either onsite or are promptly available.

• Regularly participate in facility cleaning and housekeeping work, maintaining all aspects of the assigned facility in a safe and presentable condition.

• Participate in site on-call schedule as instructed by the PGD Operation Specialist.

 

Miscellaneous Duties

 

• Perform operations and maintenance of the landfill gas collection system which may include, but is not limited to, activities such as taking gas reads, inspecting, and repairing LFG blower skid parts and filters, and ensuring condensate knockouts and pumps are working properly.

• Other activities and duties as directed by PGD Operations Specialist and/or Senior Gas Operations Technician or other Management personnel.

 

Required Qualifications

 

• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Experience with industrial engines or similar: 1+ years

• The ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively.

• Stand on feet for 2 – 4 hours consecutively

• Night Shift availability for five 8 hour night shifts.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for safe and efficient pipeline operations and gathering systems on a day-to-day basis. Employees in this role ensure that regular operational and maintenance activities are carried out on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This includes capturing gas samples, maintenance of gas metering equipment, and launching and retrieving pipeline rigs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pulls Gas samples at central delivery points (CDPs)
  • Drives Right-of-ways to observe for pipeline damage/leaks
  • Performs metering maintenance
  • Performs general maintenance of equipment
  • Interacts with landowners and production personnel
  • Communicates effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
