General Description:

The incumbent will be based in BeiGene’s US manufacturing facility and will lead Workplace Services at the facility. The site will be approx. 500K sq. ft and be a 24/7/365 operation.
 

The position will be required to be in the office 5 days a week, and on call, as needed. The WPS Leader will lead essential services for the facility, such as, Café, landscaping, janitorial vendor management, pantry management, mail/shipping, on-site events, communication and awareness to local staff.

The WPS Leader will have a leadership role and will create partnerships with all levels of the organization, including, BeiGene on and off-site leaders, and property management representatives at the Hopewell Campus. Additionally, the incumbent will  consult with colleagues on day­ to-day operations and serve as the focal point of contact for any facility related matter.

The incumbent will be responsible for knowing, interpreting, and appropriately applying all applicable country, federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations pertaining to areas of responsibility. He or she will also partner closely with the following BeiGene departments: Technical Operations, Legal/Compliance, Global Security, EH&S, Human Resources, and leaders within the WPS global team.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day soft service operations and a fully working knowledge of the buildings and the entire BeiGene complex.
  • Must have inclusive leadership skills to achieve desired results in a highly matrixed environment, and proven track record of exceeding stakeholder expectations.
  • Must foster trust, confidence, and followership across the enterprise.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with onsite Facilities Engineering Technical Operations Team, Site Leader, and Lincoln Properties.
  • Manage contractor leaders that are responsible for Food Operations, Landscaping, Janitorial, daily porters, snow removal, mail, small package delivery, waste management in coordination with manufacturing facility and office supplies.
  • Must be accountable, have sound judgment, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and be directly involved to deliver practical solutions.
  • Must be a calm advisor, with a take charge/initiative-taking attitude in an actual or perceived emergency.
  • Must be innovative in developing cost-effective, sensible solutions that deliver results.
  • Preparing, forecasting, and managing local budget.
  • Identifying and executing space planning projects to improve productivity and collaboration. 
  • Future expansion onto the 4th floor of Admin building, and a key contributor delivering innovative, cost-effective, sensible solutions for any space we occupy on the Hopewell Campus.
  • Coordinating with GTS projects ranging from conference room modification to new space construction
  • Ensuring measures are in place for after-hours facilities related emergencies working closely with Global Security and promoting and supporting security as appropriate.
  • Partnering with EHS to promoting workplace safety, environmental practices, waste reduction opportunities, sustainability, and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Managing on-site employee programs, such as food and transportation
  • Collaborate with the BeiGene’s Procurement team on opportunities to define vendor scope and manage supplier performance and cost!
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of on-site events including, but not limited to, location, menu, invitations, RSVP management, furniture, etc.
  • Coordinate and negotiate all vendor contracts, catering, rentals, and event talent/entertainment!
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new and existing workplace technology products and services!
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
     

People Management:

  • Creates and implements training for all onsite services.
  • Meets all reporting governance needs and creates, presents, and hosts such needs as required, focusing on each specific country’s requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have 10 + years’ Workplace/Facilities Pharma experience.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Must be mission driven and self-directed to simultaneously work productively on multiple initiatives
