RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Network Engineer shall design, plan, establish, and optimize networks and enterprise network architecture
  • This role shall analysis and design of voice networks, LAN data networks, wireless networks, and/or network management systems to support voice and data services
  • The successful candidate will work independently or with a team
  • Develops, designs, and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion
  • Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported
  • Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications
  • Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience in wireless and network communications industry is required
  • The Network Engineer should be experience in telecommunications network design and management. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction, on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implement.
  • Must have one of the following DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II or higher 
    • Security+ CE
    • Security X CE
    • CYSA+
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • SSCP
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP (or Associate)
    • GCED
    • GCIH
  • Certification:
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certificate
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E)
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance is required to start
  • Network survey/ deployment/support and physical infrastructure experience recommended
  • Must have working knowledge of computer hardware/software fundamentals including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio

Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency.

This position is in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).  DLA is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Information Operations, Network Operations Engineering Support Services (NetOps) at multiple DLA locations. This position is intended to support the Enterprise Telecommunications Network and Cloud functions by exercising skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies.
