Position Summary:
The Gummies Leader is responsible for managing the operations of a value stream and achieving weekly, monthly, and quarterly results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, and reliability while meeting department schedule adherence and attainment goals. They should foster a collaborative environment across all departments to drive results and deliver cost savings. They model Pharmavite’s purpose, beliefs, and values for their employees by embedding a first time-right mentality and promote robust root cause problem solving/CAPA development capability within their team to attain goals to deliver customer requirements. Additionally, they are responsible for developing and executing improvement plans and building team capabilities through training, coaching, feedback, and performance management.
Responsibilities:
Develops and executes the Annual Operating Plan for their assigned Department, aligning goals and objectives to the company’s strategic vision, and ensures operating expenditures meet or exceed expectations.
Drives the continuous improvement roadmap and implementation plan to achieve operational objectives.
Champions/Coaches teams on Autonomous Maintenance projects and daily improvement initiatives. Partners with Business Excellence around execution of kaizen events to deliver annual objectives and improvements.
Develops department leaders to reach their maximum potential and builds a highly skilled, highly regarded and initiative-taking, customer-focused team. Owns the career path progression program plan for their department.
Ensures development of operating team’s technical capability to identify, measure and drive out losses. Facilitates use of standard approaches and problem-solving tools to deliver results more efficiently and to systematically identify root causes and solutions to chronic problems. Supports a transition to self-sufficient, high-performing teams.
Ensures safety, quality, and productivity goals, including schedule adherence, are met/exceeded. Monitors operations of the day while sustaining changes to ensure first time right mentality.
Supports NCCAPA investigations to ensure team is problem solving to root cause with urgency.
Performs various analysis and leads initiatives to deliver on cost savings projects within their department.
Leads by example through our Operating Values and is highly visible on the manufacturing floor and in touch with the pulse of their operation across all shifts. Views the leadership role as supporting employees to enable them to be their best self and inspires them to continuously improve.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
A four-year degree or its equivalent combination of education/relevant work experience is required.
Certification:
Six Sigma and or Lean/Continuous Improvement experience & certification preferred.
Obtain internal Lean Green Belt certification and Kata coach within one year of employment.
Experience:
Requires minimum of six years’ experience in Manufacturing/Consumer-Packaged Goods environment, to include supervisory/leadership experience. Specific experience in the department to which applied is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Competent knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs, within a CPG and regulated environment
Experience working within a rapidly evolving environment, able to adjust to changing job requirements, working in a start-up environment setting standards, articulating vision, and creating a high performing culture.
Experience leading and coaching projects, daily improvements initiatives, delivery of required results across shifts and Kaizen events.
Experience ensuring that improvements and procedures are sustained through ongoing coaching and auditing of their assigned department.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems. JD Edwards and Power BI skil
