Are you interested in joining a growing multinational business and playing a central role in its journey? We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager for our Green Desk trading team to support the continued expansion of our power certificate trading activities. Experience in the renewable energy sector is required.

About the role

As a Senior Portfolio Manager, you will join a team of skilled colleagues and contribute to Centrica Energy’s ambitious renewable growth targets. You will actively participate in developing new trading strategies and products, exploring new market entries, and managing the risk of our exposure. Our activities include trading instruments such as Guarantees of Origins, REGOs, and ROCs.

Your responsibilities include:

• Pricing of new upstream and downstream leads

• Monitoring market developments and identifying business opportunities

• Developing new trading strategies

• Managing the risks associated with our certificate trading activities

• Innovating new products which add value for our customers

• Engaging in daily conversations with external and internal stakeholders

About you

You are a team player with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You have an analytical approach and a strong business acumen.

We expect that you:

• Hold a master’s degree in mathematics, economics, engineering, or a related field

• Have significant experience as a portfolio manager, originator, business developer, or similar within the European renewable energy sector, preferably within Green Certificates trading

• Are proficient in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus.

• Can proactively identify business opportunities within the Green Certificate space and drive business growth

• Have experience with financial and risk modeling tools

• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.

• Have strong interpersonal skills

• Value teamwork and have a collaborative mindset. This is essential for success at Centrica Energy.
