About the role

Role Summary: 

The Quality Engineer will support the development, implementation and running of quality control programs and procedures with a focus on improving internal processes and supporting supplier quality. This position involves the translation of customer specifications and industry standards into product / process criteria. You’ll also address the day-to-day issues with production quality within the manufacturing plant and supplier facilities. 
 

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor product portfolio KPIs (COPQ) and drive effective root cause corrective actions where appropriate to address gaps to agreed targets 

  • Maintain and analyze data to provide information or identify problems for management and stakeholders on the state of a process or product quality 

  • Co-owner of the material review board (MRB) process. 

  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the facility. This includes process and document changes. 

  • Coordinate rework processes both internal and external to Flowserve 

  • Collaborate with the department or other company departments to clarify / resolve issues techniques related to quality activities 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Requirements: 

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and or 5 years of relevant experience 

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing quality department 

  • Strong problem solving (8D, A3 or Six Sigma) skills 

  • Familiarity with Lean tools and Six Sigma tools and methodologies 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Experience in Measurement Systems and drawing interpretation (GD&T) 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

 

Preferred Experience / Skills: 

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) Experience  

  • Internal Auditor training / certification 

  • Experience with PPAP/APQP/FMEA 

  • Experience with Supplier Quality (Castings and Machining) a big plus 

  • Experience with rotative equipment (pumps). 

  • Experience with ISO 9001 calibration system management. 

  • Cross Functional Team Leadership 

  • ORACLE (ERP System) experience 

  • Forklift license
