Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Mechanic working at our Corporate Headquarters location.

 

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will perform skilled work in repairing, modifying, installing or otherwise improving equipment and buildings. The Mechanic will perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on related equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders as directed by department manager ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Maintains adequate levels of supplies to complete tasks assigned.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of tools to ensure the needs of most tasks are accommodated.
• Purchases supplies as necessary by contacting, negotiating and ordering from select vendors with approval from Facility Manager.
• Evaluates alternative vendors when necessary to ensure that we are receiving the best value for the investment.
• Works with other team members to ensure proper cross training and mentoring.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

• 3 years experience in Plumbing / HVAC / Electrical required
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds

Education Required:

• High School Diploma/GED required
