What You Will Do

Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineer with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next generation propulsion programs.  The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs.  Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to EDSI standard work development.  This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for future military propulsion programs.  Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.

This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four assignments to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.

Develop Systems Engineering Models in order to perform systems engineering tasks including:

Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, Requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning

Interface with team leads, team members, and other teams and provide task status updates

Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle

Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard work

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering

Experience in systems engineering roles, or familiarity with systems engineering concepts

Experience using a SysML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody ®, Cameo/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Ability to work in a collaborative multi-discipline environment to produce deliverables

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Office
