Director of Alumni Relations

The Director of Alumni Relations is a strategic professional and creative leader responsible for the development and oversight of the Rasmussen Alumni Association (“Association”), ensuring the program complements and supports the mission of Rasmussen University.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and develops overarching alumni engagement strategy and association governance.
- Plans, directs, and executes Alumni Associations and programs that support the strategic goals of the University in key markets.
- Performs market analysis for ideal geographic locations to stand up alumni associations
- Performs financial ROI assessment on programs to focus on within alumni associations
- Develops and oversees the communication plan to include email, print, social media, web, and other communication media.
- Develops and implements strategies to increase member engagement. Build relationships internally and externally to support the Association membership strategy to recruit and nurture Alumni Ambassadors identified in each key market.
- Recruit alumni ambassadors
- Work with departments to enhance alumni programming. Work with other support departments to aid and assist them in reaching their goals and seek out where synergies exist with alumni programming.
- Oversees Alumni referral and re-enrollment initiatives along with key metrics associated with these initiatives.
- Be available to alumni, friends of the University, families, and officials to discuss any facet of the Association; represent the University in the community.
- Oversight for reputation management within the alumni associations and the communities where we operate.
- Prepares briefings and presents information to individuals and groups of varying sizes.
- Attends ceremonies and other events on behalf of Rasmussen and may make presentations of scholarships and other forms of recognition to deserving individuals.
- Coordinate and host alumni events at each commencement ceremony.
- Ensure the application of research, data, and market trends in the development of an alumni outreach strategy.
- Engage and collaborate with APEI and Education Units.
- Oversees and leads a team of student ambassadors.
- Performs other appropriate and reasonably required duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Head of Brand Strategy and Communications, who reports directly to the President and Chief Academic Officer. Leading and influencing cross-functional teams will be key to success in this role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree a plus.
- 5 years of progressive experience leading an Alumni Relations team or department to growth required.
- 7-10 years of experience in building, collaborating, and managing cross-functional teams required.
