What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Consultant, with experience in project/program management, financial/budget management, and meeting facilitation to assist a federal client in the oversight of federal contracting activities related to professional services, software, hardware, or other IT peripheral equipment.

The Chief of Staff largely supports project management, acquisition development activities, and serves as a trusted advisor/executive assistant to our federal client. The position is split between providing acquisition support and direct executive assistant support. Duties include drafting acquisition documents, researching historical acquisition actions, crafting internal and external stakeholder communications, facilitating data calls, drafting customer IT software use case summaries, and conducting outreach with vendors and reseller partners. Within the internal team, the Chief of Staff relays real-time client communications that directly impacts our internal workload, schedule, prioritization, and execution of activities. The Chief of Staff will also support the client and his team with managing the client’s division budget, submitting and monitoring invoice approval/processing and purchase requisitions using the Department’s purchasing/spend workflow management system, drafting talking points and email communications, managing stakeholder/customer outreach, and developing PowerPoint presentations.

In addition to facilitating meetings with the Guidehouse Project Team, the Chief of Staff may also interact with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their resellers, other federal contractor teams, and the client’s internal Department customers. The Chief of Staff is responsible for addressing ad-hoc requests from the client’s contracting officer representatives (CORs) to process software license requests, prepare and send out summary notes of meetings, and attend meetings with the client's CORs to take notes and provide input, when requested.

Successful candidates will have experience in project/program management, stakeholder communication. and meeting facilitation. Qualified candidates must have strong attention to detail, skills to manage multiple and competing priorities, communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing), as well as have a flexible and agile attitude with a willingness to provide support at any time, where needed to ensure forward movement of the client’s priorities, general office activities, and the Guidehouse Project Team’s delivery schedule. This position is hybrid, with two days a week working on-site at the client’s office in Washington, DC.


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • ONE (1) or more years’ experience supporting a multi-disciplinary team.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Knowledge of the State Department organization, or prior history with State Department projects.

  • Knowledge of public budgeting and/or experience in supporting Federal Government budgeting activities.

  • Experience or familiarity with IT products (such as virtualized machines, cloud/on-premise environments, cloud-based platforms, or IT hardware) and professional services.

  • Familiarity of key documents that comprise federal acquisition packages.

  • Possess project/program management experience and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, quality, & customer service orientation.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many stakeholders.

  • Self-starter/self-driven; demonstrated ability to work with a team, as well as independently.

  • Highly comfortable and well-versed in using Microsoft O365 platform and assorted web-based applications.

  • Experience coordinating efforts within a team

The annual salary range for this position is $71,800.00-$107,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
