Reports To: Bookstore Manager

Job Summary/Objective: The incumbent is responsible for providing customer service to patrons of the bookstore and support to the bookstore manager.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours: Part time; Mornings, evenings and weekend availability required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Responsibilities:


Greet and assist customers with excellent customer service
Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately
Ensure merchandise displays are aesthetically pleasing and organized
Assist customers via phone, in person, and online inquiries
Reconcile cash drawer and transactions at the end of shifts
Assist with various projects and bookstore needs as designate

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:


1 or more years of retail, bookstore, or equivalent customer service experience
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents and personalities
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands: Extended periods of standing/sitting/walking and working at a computer will be required. Ability to lift up to 20+ pounds regularly is required.
