Legrand, Data Power & Control Division has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Global Strategic Sourcing to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. Reporting to the DPC Sr. Director of Procurement and strong dotted line to BUS Sr Director of Operations, the Global Strategic Sourcing director will lead all activities related to the sourcing of direct and indirect materials and outside value-add manufacturing. The primary function of this role is to develop strategic plans, mitigate potential supply chain risks, ensure purchased material happen at the lowest cost, and is available to meet demand and future requirements. From time to time, this leader will conduct tactical activity as needed to ensure supply continuity include project management and expedites. This role is responsible for the efficient flow of materials for domestic and international locations and the development of secondary and localized supply chains. The incumbent has responsibility for DPC strategic sourcing framework across all Starline locations.
Main Job Duties:
- Oversee Strategic Sourcing activities including purchasing, equipment, supplies and outsourcing services across multiple plants with key plant in US and secondary plants in Mexico, Europe and Asia.
- Develop the vision, goals, and objectives for Starline’s Supply Chain and Sourcing activities using SS DPC framework and leveraging LNCA standard work.
- Lead mentor and develop a high performing international team of approximately 4 direct reports and help them grow the strategic sourcing function within the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration to drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Deploy and lead with continuous improvement mentality to analyze, translate, determine root causes, develop action plans, and implement plan of action as necessary with strong analytical, negotiation and presentation skills required.
- Responsible for annual material productivity, budget, and planning.
- Negotiate strategic, large and/or critical agreements as required and ensure appropriate contracts are in place to protect Legrand’s interests, minimize exposure and to secure consistent supplies at competitive prices.
- Tactical support as needed to ensure supply continuity; i.e. escalation for expedites and project management sourcing activities.
- Establish strategic plans, including vision, goals, and objectives for the global supply chain group, working with Sales, Operations and Engineering to assure Starline’s customer service and purchasing/supply chain goals and objectives are achieved. Implement plans covering all commodities, services, and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, standardization, and compliance.
- Ensure projects, secondary and localized sourcing initiatives and improvement plans are in place, monitor and report progress of execution on a regular basis. Deliver on all assigned objectives including supplier performance, material cost productivity, payment terms improvement and LNCA CSR Initiatives.
- Understand current market trends around material cost, availability, and risk factors across all applicable commodities. Provide analysis with recommendations regarding material cost reduction opportunities.
- Deploy supplier scorecard and drive supplier performance to ensure suppliers deliver in +QDIP.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with our supply base and other LNCA & DPC colleagues maintaining the highest degree of business ethics and professionalism.
- Develop a comprehensive vendor base, leveraging both global and local capabilities, that creates and sustains a competitive advantage in terms of cost, supply, service, and working capital.
- Responsible for KPI of BU in Supplier Business Management / Supply Chain Risk Management / Material Productivity / Supplier CSR / NPD Procurement
- Perform other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field required; MBA, preferred
Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in sourcing in manufacturing environment globally.
- Experience in fast paced manufacturing sourcing environment in both small (less than 50 employees) and large scale (Fortune 200) organizations.
- Requires strong organizational and project management skills, close attention to detail, and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
