Guardant Health’s Oncology Platform is designed to leverage its capabilities in technology, clinical development, regulatory and reimbursement to drive commercial adoption, improve patient clinical outcomes, and lower healthcare costs.  In pursuit of its goal to manage cancer across all stages of the disease, Guardant Health has launched multiple liquid biopsy-based tests for patients with advanced stage cancer, which fuel its development programs for recurrence and early detection. Since its launch in 2014, Guardant360 has been used by more than 7,000 oncologists, over 50 biopharmaceutical companies and all 27 of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network centers.

The Screening Division is a dedicated organization inside of Guardant Health focused on the development and commercialization of the cancer screening portfolio and has successfully launched Shield, a first of its kind blood-based colorectal cancer screening test. The Screening Division’s singular focus on bringing our cancer screening products to market allows us to act with the speed and urgency needed to achieve our ambitious goals and serve the millions of individuals who can benefit from early cancer detection.

Within the Screening Medical Affairs program, our goal is to educate leading physicians, patients, policy makers, physician groups, and advocacy groups on the clinical value of Guardant Health’s early cancer detection products program, specifically related to the unmet clinical need in cancer screening that can be addressed by a blood-based screening test. The role of the Intern, Medical Affairs Screening Division will be to support the development of key resources to support this goal.

The Intern, Medical Affairs Screening Division will have the opportunity to engage in, interpret data, and translate data from research projects and disseminate key information through publications,  presentations, and internal education to support medical affairs, patient navigation, clinical development and commercial initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Critically review data from new publications and research findings to develop educational tools (publications/presentation, etc) for internal and external education 

  • Support development of oral presentations, data reviews, and interactive education events.

  • Synopsize and educate key personnel regarding emerging abstracts and publications relevant to cancer recommended screening 

  • Participate in medical updates, scientific presentations, journal clubs, teleconferences, and meetings as requested.

  • Engage in focus groups, PR events, working meetings, and scientific forums.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Required

  • Individuals completed an undergraduate and enrolled in a graduate program in a scientific field of study are encouraged to apply 

  • Interested in a career in the sciences, health care, or clinical trials

Technical Skills Required

  • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of the following computer software programs: Microsoft Office: Powerpoint, Excel, and Word

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong teamwork ethic.

  • Multi-dimensional in abilities to work on simultaneous tasks and work cross-team. 

  • Self-directed, intrinsically motivated, flexible to changes in an ever changing dynamic environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, time management skills, and personal initiative.

  • Excellent proofreading skills, with the ability to proof for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting of documents.
