Job Description

The Global Business Optimization team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients and staff to improve portfolio performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences. By coupling in-depth analysis of cardholder behavior with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world.  

The Senior Director will play a key leadership role on the North America Business Optimization team and will participate in the NA CNP Authorization Task Force.  As part of the NA Insights Delivery team, this role is accountable for delivering the GBO vision to our issuing and processing partners.  In this role, you need to be highly motivated, strategic and analytical and will deliver thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to drive payment success. The Senior Director must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with clients and across the Visa organization. 

Experience with utilizing big data is critical to the success of the role as is the ability to deliver robust automation and effective data visualization. Finding the adequate balance of priorities will be important to successfully manage the team in parallel with projects and new initiatives.  Innovation and a willingness to challenge traditional paradigms are also paramount to the success of the role. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic, functional and technical leadership to a team of individuals that derive analytical insights on client performance and help deliver findings from those analyses to external and internal stakeholders. 
  • Serve as Visa’s expert on authorization and authentication and provide recommendations that influence future products and initiatives. 
  • Develop presentations of complex data and content for clients in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner. 
  • Present analytic deliverables to external Visa clients, colleagues in the analytics team, and other internal stakeholders with varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise. 
  • Build self-service analytical tools that provide a holistic view of client performance, enabling robust and comprehensive dialogues with clients on performance, opportunities, and solutions. 
  • Act as the business lead for the Minimum Approval Rate (MAR) behavioral fee program, accountable for delivering reporting and insights that provide operational efficiencies and drive strategy. 
  • Participate in the Task Force for the Card Not Present (CNP) Authorization Scorecard initiative. 
  • Enable CSM client optimization conversations by delivering client facing content via optimization plays or other engagements that drive tangible improvement in the payment ecosystem. 
  • Collaborate with VCA practice subject matter experts, data scientists, Risk and Disputes teams to develop and refine highly relevant new data solutions. 
  • Deliver on the NA Global Business Optimization OKRs. 
  • Build and retain a team of top talent that is diverse and inclusive. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Payments industry experience required (i.e. acquiring, issuing, processing, operations, systems, etc.
