Summary 

Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation. 

The Senior Emergency Management Planner provides direct client support for EM Planning projects such as emergency operations plan, continuity of operations plans, emergency management program assessments, exercise development and after action reports. An Emergency Management Senior Consultant I provides advanced consulting services, leads a small group of consultants, and provides advice and analytical services to private businesses and government agencies on how to deal with emergency situations or any emergency management functions or disciplines. Each Consultant will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform.

Reporting Division: Planning & Risk Reduction

Compensation: $80k-90k per year

Travel/Location: This position could require up to 50% travel/deployment.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of emergency management plans, policies, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain effective client partnerships with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies, as well as community organizations, to facilitate coordinated response efforts.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments to integrate emergency management plans into overall organizational strategies.
  • Develop and implement training programs for client staff and emergency response teams to ensure they are well-prepared to execute emergency plans effectively.
  • Coordinate and conduct emergency response drills and exercises to evaluate the client organization's readiness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and secure necessary resources for emergency response, including personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of emergency resources and ensure they are in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of federal funding opportunities that may assist clients with projects.
  • Periodically deploy to client sites to support staff augmentation roles during disasters.
  • Present on topics at industry conferences based on subject-matter expertise.
  • Assist the VP of Planning and Risk Reduction in proposal development as needed based on subject-matter expertise.
  • Assist the VP of PARR in creation, updating, and distribution of ACDC marketing materials and capabilities statements based on subject-matter expertise and explicitly for the Planning and Risk Reduction Division.
  • Assist with ongoing Divisional business development plans, goals, and relationships
  • Support the development of tools and resources to support efficient project- execution
  • Support and assist in leading all corporate and program operations related to the (add division here) Division on all division projects in addition to general emergency management services as needed.  
  • Makes decisions on assigned portions of projects providing technical and subject matter expertise to clients.  
  • Provide support with all strategic and business plans to ensure they are followed in relation to project and division work.  
  • Manage/lead critical portions of mid-sized projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.  
  • Lead meetings and briefings with clients, prepare and facilitate budgets, proposals, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed
