General Purpose
Manages the development and implementation of projects for the Customer Solutions Department in areas including energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, energy storage, renewable energy, and other customer-focused initiatives. Provides strategic direction and project development including design, analysis, feasibility studies, budget and schedule. Establishes project goals, negotiates timelines/schedules, and develops project plans.
Responsibilities
- Serve as project manager over key Customer Solutions initiatives through planning, valuation, and regulatory approval stages.
- Serve as point-of-contact for Customer Solutions program resource acquisition planning with Integrated Resource Plan team.
- Manage one or more highly complex projects, research, track, and report on initiatives.
- Apply technical expertise to support the Company’s strategic goals and initiatives to inform legislative and regulatory proceedings.
- Support discovery response development and correspondence with utility commissions on customer solutions-related issues.
- Ensure that Customer Solutions initiatives are appropriately captured in the Company’s ten-year business plan budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze and evaluate datasets or documents to define critical tasks.
- Recommend project plans, timelines, and budgets to management, and monitor progress against plan.
- Communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes.
- Develop financial documents for all aspects of budget reporting.
- Oversee the budget development and coordinate budget activities with various groups.
- Manage any vendor staff performing work on projects.
- Collaborate with Customer Solutions personnel and other staff to provide input and technical services in the development and execution of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, Engineering; or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education & experience.
- A minimum of five years related professional experience with Customer Solutions programs, technologies, resource evaluation and/or valuation.
- Previous experience leading complex projects or teams.
- Analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks, establish sequence of events, identify individuals/teams, timelines and outcomes and to produce project plans.
- Project management skills to develop and monitor work agreements and budgets, determine specifications, schedules, timelines, and define deliverables.
- Broad exposure to stakeholder engagements / process (utility commissions, state/local agencies, consumer groups, technology providers, etc)
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate team efforts, provide guidance and direction to team members.
- Financial modeling to quantify costs and benefits of projects and to track and maintain project budgets.
- Knowledge of project management techniques, the company’s business, applicable policies, procedures, and practices, and federal, state, and local laws.
- Expertise in the use of technical applications, software, and tools.
Preferences
- Knowledge of distributed energy resources, energy efficiency, and behind-the-meter technologies.
- PMP or CEM Certification.
