The Internal Audit Senior Manager, Technology Risk will partner closely with QTS Technology Operations leadership, including the CIO and extended leadership team, to define and lead a strategic, risk-based program focused on IT internal audit and advisory, IT governance and risk assessment, system implementation reviews, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, information security, and other key areas. This individual will evaluate the enterprise risks and gaps impacting QTS’ strategic objectives and identify and execute projects designed to provide value add feedback and results to QTS Technology leaders.


RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Leading the Internal Audit Technology Risk assessment/attestation program including planning resource management, scoping, executing, reporting results, and managing the final project deliverables with the support of other Internal Audit resources.

  • Working directly with QTS’ Cyber, IT Operations teams, and Business Systems teams to understand Company initiatives and projects and provide feedback as applicable on risks/gaps to be considered.

  • Understanding the landscape of Cyber and Technology risk impacting QTS, and participating in available professional education and/or providing training to the Internal Audit team on key industry topics.

  • Management resources executing technology risk audits and providing feedback to grow the team’s skills.

  • Identifying opportunities to utilize expert 3rd party resources to perform deep dive technology assessments and managing these resources.

  • Reviewing testing of substantive processes and key controls via inquiry, observation, evidence inspection, re-performance, and transaction data analysis.

  • Providing input on internal controls and/or process improvement recommendations to mitigate identified gaps.

  • Partnering with Internal Audit team members on additional projects in a support capacity, providing expertise in identifying key technology risks and related mitigating controls within business processes and/or operational areas.

  • Communicating observations to Company leadership and impacted stakeholders.

  • Support other QTS Internal Audit objectives as directed by the Chief Audit Executive.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent in Technology related field.

  • 7 or more years of performing IT or cyber risk related projects, preferably within a capital intensive and/or technology industry.

  • 3 or more years of leading teams executing IT or cyber related projects.

  • Firm understanding of all relevant IT/cyber related frameworks, including but not limited to SOX 404 ITGC, SOC2 Principles, ISO 27001/22301, NIST, etc.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 or more years managing IT audit-related projects.

  • 10 or more years of assurance and advisory services experience with a nationally recognized accounting firm or internal audit function.

  • Five or more years in a data center or technology-focused industry.

  • Attainment of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other relevant certification.

  • Experience with Workday, Salesforce, Active Directory. ServiceNow and/or industry-relevant building management, environmental and security monitoring systems.

  • Experience with Data Analytics tools and procedures.

  • Takes ownership of assigned areas, follows up on deliverables, and has a propensity for action to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage priorities and workload as a part of an agile team.
