Position: Survey Field Technician
Job Location: Coeur d’ Alene, ID
J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. is hiring a summer part time Survey Field Technician to work in our Coeur d’Alene, ID office. This is a field position working with our survey crews under the supervision of a survey party chief on a variety of survey projects ranging from boundary surveys to construction staking.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set up, adjust, and operate GNSS receivers, data collectors, robotic total stations, lasers, and levels used for specific surveying tasks
- Measure and record data based on information collected from various survey instruments
- Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans
- Lay out and recover public and private land corners
- Stake design plans in municipal/urban and rural settings
- Set property corners and other survey monuments
- Ensure survey trucks have necessary equipment and materials for workday
- Maintain the order and cleanliness of survey equipment
- Drive stakes, hubs, rebar, and other survey markers into the ground
- Assist the other members of the surveying team
- Desire to learn and grow in the surveying field under the mentorship of our party chiefs and Professional Land Surveyors
Requirements
- 1-5 years previous Surveying experience desired, but not required
- Knowledge of survey practices and procedures desired
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Fundamental knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry desired
- The ability to perform physically strenuous tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
- Highly motivated, self-starter and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement capabilities
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50-pounds
- Flexibility to work various hours and/or longer hours at times depending on workload and fast changing schedules
