This position contributes to Starbucks success by managing a portion of the IT program portfolio and leading high performing teams on Global Technology projects. As a manager of the IT program portfolio you will lead program management efforts that range from basic platform enhancements to enterprise product implementations and upgrades. This role operates at both a strategic and a tactical level and requires a close partnership with IT and business stakeholders, collaboration on strategic and tactical program planning, project planning and execution, and project delivery. This management-level position also requires strong capability in building effective program management teams as well as the ability to improve the business of IT by streamlining processes, and innovating on program management industry best practices.

 

As a manager, program management, you will…

·       Lead end-to-end delivery of large complex, cross-functional technology programs, ensuring alignment with business strategy, timelines, and budget commitments.

·       Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define program scope, prioritize initiatives, and drive execution across multiple workstreams.

·       Establish and enforce program governance, including risk management, status reporting, dependency tracking, and escalation frameworks.

·       Build and scale program management best practices, tools, and processes to improve delivery predictability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

·       Manage and mentor a team of project and program managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

·       Drive executive communication by providing clear insights into program health, key risks, and strategic milestones to senior leadership.
