Priory are looking to recruit a Head of Psychology to join our Therapy team. This role is shared across two sites, Priory Hospital Newbury 3 days/22.5 hours and Priory Mildmay Oaks 2 days/15 hours.What you'll be doing
We are seeking an experienced and motivated clinician to join our multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively alongside other therapists across our services. The successful candidate will hold line management responsibility for a team of psychologists and psychology assistants, providing high-quality clinical supervision, psychotherapeutic advice and guidance, and contributing to research and audit activity, including support with statistical data analysis.The role includes delivering staff training, facilitating reflective practice, and leading team formulations to support high-quality, patient-centred care.
Mildmay Oaks
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and alongside other therapists. There will also be line management responsibilities for a team of psychologists and psychology assistants, this will include but is not limited to, giving clinical supervision, providing psychotherapeutic advice and guidance and assisting with the analysis of statistical data for research and audit purposes. The role will also include some staff training, running reflective practice and team formulations
Priory Hospital Newbury
At Priory Hospital Newbury, you will oversee a smaller Therapy Services team comprising a Psychology Assistant, Lead Occupational Therapist, and Therapy Assistants. You will work closely within the MDTs across both wards and report directly to the Senior Management Team. Responsibilities include leading Therapy Services team meetings, facilitating team formulations, and delivering staff training and reflective practice sessions.
Key Responsibilities (Across Both Sites)
- Manage and allocate caseloads within agreed timescales, ensuring regular communication with patients and staff
- Respond promptly to referrals and undertake assessments to plan and deliver effective, evidence-based therapy programmes
- Provide high-quality individual and group interventions aligned with patients’ therapy plans
- Complete risk assessments to inform and support safe and effective therapeutic programmes
- Lead and support MDT working to ensure coordinated, holistic care
What you'll bring to the role
You will also have experience from working in adult inpatients services, preferably with experience in delivering skills based groups and individual DBT and CBT sessions and have expertise in delivering Trauma informed therapy. It is essential that you currently have accreditation with HCPC. you will oversea the management of psychology, psychology assistants and art, music and drama therapists.What we will give you in return
