Sheriff’s Deputy – Intrust Bank Arena

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of the Captain, or Supervising Officer, the Sheriff Officer must be a current commissioned deputy in good standing with the Sedgwick County Sherriff’s Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide safety and security of INTRUST Bank Arena guests, staff, and property during events.

• Static and mobile positions inside and outside the arena. 

• Must be able to endure climate changes outside from extreme heat to extreme cold.

• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma, or GED

• Graduate of the sheriff academy/law enforcement training center, with completed field training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Assist with guest services, security staff, and administrative staff when confronted with unhappy guests in a professional manner.

• In the event of a crime being committed or witnessed the position is required to take the necessary law enforcement action.

• Additional duties may include dignitary protection, traffic control, and assisting with moving money around the arena.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, guest and staff.

• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively; occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Ability to endure climate change from extreme heat to extreme cold.
